Frequently asked questions

How registration, verification and the directory work. If something here does not answer your question, the About page explains the wider picture.

  • Who can register?

OICW Bridge is for enterprises in OIC member countries, with a particular focus on women-owned businesses. You need a business that is legally registered in one of the countries currently open, and a document that proves it.

  • Which countries are open today?

Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Mauritania, Azerbaijan, Malaysia and Indonesia. Anyone anywhere can search the directory; registration follows as verification teams are appointed in further OIC member countries.

  • Does it cost anything?

No. Registering your enterprise, having it verified and appearing in the directory are free, and so are the courses. Searching the directory needs no account at all.

  • What does “Verified” actually mean?

That a verifier for your country opened your application, read the registration documents you uploaded, and approved them. Verifiers only ever see applications from their own country. A profile appears in the directory only while it is both verified and covered by your consent.

  • How long does verification take?

A few working days in most cases. Each country has its own verifiers and they review only applications from their own country, so the wait depends on what is in their queue. You are emailed as soon as there is a decision — approved, rejected, or changes requested.

  • Which documents do I need?

Proof of legal registration is required. A tax document and an identity document are optional and help the reviewer. PDF, JPG or PNG, up to 10 MB each.

  • Who can see my documents?

Nobody but the verifiers for your country and ICDT administrators. Documents are never published, never shown on your public profile and never served to a visitor. What the public sees is the profile you filled in.

  • Can I change my profile after it is verified?

Yes. Most changes — description, products, contact details, trade intent — publish straight away. Changing your company name, registration number, country, legal status or documents sends the profile back to a verifier, and it leaves the directory until they approve it again.

  • How do I take my business out of the directory?

Withdraw your consent from your account page. The profile stops being public immediately. Your data and your verification are kept, the withdrawal is recorded, and you can consent again later.

  • How do I keep my account safe?

Use two-step verification: an authenticator app or a code by email, plus backup codes. It is available to everyone and required for verifiers and administrators.

  • What is the product catalogue?

Up to ten products or services on your profile, each with a photo, a description and a price range — so a buyer sees what you actually sell, not only what sector you are in.

  • What are the courses?

Short video training with downloadable handouts, on running and growing a business. Sign in to watch them; they are published by ICDT.

  • Which languages can I use?

The whole platform is in English, French and Arabic, and Arabic reads right to left. Text you write yourself — your description, your products — is shown as you entered it, in whichever language you chose.

  • Who runs OICW Bridge?

It is an initiative of the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT). The platform is built and operated by Appsaya.
