What ICDT does
The Centre's mandate is to expand trade and investment across the OIC region: strengthening the competitiveness of member states' economies and connecting the businesses inside them. In practice that means trade fairs, matchmaking between companies, market information, research, and direct help for exporters who do not know where to start.
And the OIC itself
The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation was founded in Rabat in 1969. It brings together 57 member states across four continents, which makes it the largest intergovernmental organisation after the United Nations. ICDT is the part of it that deals with trade.
Where this platform fits
Trade fairs and missions
The Centre runs the Trade Fair of the OIC Member States and sector events that put buyers and sellers in the same room.
Business matchmaking
Connecting companies across member states is long-standing ICDT work. A searchable directory of verified businesses is the same idea, available all year.
Market information
Studies, a halal market dashboard and a helpdesk for exporters, so a business can find out what a market requires before committing to it.
OICW Bridge
This platform is ICDT's instrument for women-owned businesses: a verified profile, a catalogue, and a way for partners to find and contact them.
Why women-owned businesses
Businesses owned by women across the OIC region are frequently invisible to the partners and financiers who would work with them: not for want of trade, but for want of a credible, searchable record that they exist and have been checked. That gap is what this directory is built to close.
The facts on this page are drawn from ICDT's own website. The wording is awaiting the Centre's approval.
